What’s a Feature Engineer within ING Group Services? ING Group Services is looking for a Feature Engineer in Metadata Management. Metadata is commonly described as “data about data” and gives insight into how the actual data is loaded, processed, accessed and controlled. Metadata is a key component within data management, showing that we are in control of our data and that the usage is in accordance with principles we set internally and externally through compliance regulations such as GDPR. Innovations in metadata management are happening at a rapid pace as the full potential of this technology is yet to be realized. To help us realize our goals and ambitions we are looking for an enthusiastic Feature Engineer in this field. Hiring Managers are Ritu Sharma and Johan Paulissen. A Feature Engineer within Metadata Management does the following:
Work together in a Center of Excellence (CoE) with other Feature Engineers, Domain Architects, Product Owners and DevOps teams in an international environment
Help shape the feature roadmap for the metadata management domain in periodical planning sessions towards Vision, Themes and Epics
Be involved in the latest innovations around metadata management such as open meta data and API management
Refine features to the desired level of technical detail clarifying its technical usage and interdependencies with other features in our data architecture
Identifying which Squads/Teams/specialists to involve in the Agile build cycle
Challenge and advise Product Owners on Feature dependencies and priorities and backlog alignment of individual Squads
Work with service management to determine and describe the impact of new features on the service delivery
From his/her in-depth IT/application and Feature knowledge he/she may participate in tests to verify the extent to which the realized Feature works as designed
Your “backpack” should contain :
Bachelor or Master Degree in IT (Engineering)
Experience in shaping feature roadmaps for metadata management
Experience in refining features, challenge and advise Product Owners on feature dependencies and priorities
In depth IT application and feature knowledge
You’ve got experience with the agile way of working
You can prove that you are constantly improving your IT knowledge (books, tutorials, congresses, etc).

Salary range 50-75k EUR based on 36 hour work week
