Your job You are responsible for the origination and execution of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) transactions as well as Equity Capital Markets (ECM) and other strategic advisory assignments. You maintain strong and lasting relationships with clients and prospects in a wide range of (global) sectors.
Your focus is on M&A and equity funding alternatives, including capital markets and private placements. Together with client coverage teams, you identify transaction opportunities. You prepare and present client proposals, pitch books and industry updates as well as advise to the client in respect to M&A and capital raising decisions.
You develop financial models, valuation assessments and transaction/company comparables.
You prepare documents for the relevant committees for approval of mandates and prepare proposals for the activities and/or policy of the market segment or product team within the framework of Corporate Finance, focused on realising broader team targets.
Due diligence coordination, data room management, preparation of information memoranda and management presentations are examples of key items you will be responsible for during the execution of a transaction. You supervise and coach analysts and interns. You are expected to participate in organising promotional activities for CF products and services, creating awareness and building a relationship between clients and the bank. You contribute to the overall ABN AMRO franchise by supporting interdisciplinary marketing and execution efforts, including Equity Capital Markets, Debt Solutions and Private Banking. Your work directly contributes to the bank’s profitability, client needs and risk mitigation targets.
Your working environment The Corporate Finance department consists of more than 60 professionals, working in Amsterdam, Singapore and New York. The team advises on primarily on M&A and is active in ECM. We assist ABN AMRO’s clients and institutional investors in achieving their strategic goals, combining an in-depth knowledge of the relevant markets and industries with extensive financial expertise. With our considerable market knowledge and track record, our team has strongly positioned itself in markets across the globe. We continue to expand our international profile (global sectors and EIGO countries (UK, DE, FR, BE) and aim to be the leading advisor in our target sectors. Key examples of recent transactions we have been advising on are:
– Sale of a 16.7% stake in Maasvlakte Olie Terminal by Gunvor to Saudi Aramco
– Sale of Voogd & Voogd by Bencis Capital Partners to Five Arrows Principal Investments
– Acquisition of Delta Netwerkgroep by Stedin
– Telegraaf on the public offer by Mediahuis
– Sale of BMC to Randstad
– Ongoing privatization process for Eneco

• A university degree
• 4-6 years of work experience
• Experience in business development, M&A, ECM, structured finance and/or capital markets
• Proficient in financial modelling and valuation
