In this role, you will actively participate in the sourcing activities with the goal of achieving cost reductions, while maintaining or improving quality or vendor service levels. You will work closely together with the Global Sourcing Managers who are responsible for the global sourcing strategy for a specific sub category for all procurement needs. Your focus will be split across long term projects such as assisting in preparing and coordinating bids as well as operational activities such as monitoring the purchasing process and negotiate with suppliers.
As Tactical / Operational Buyer, you have a key role in our organization. You will interact with sites, suppliers and colleagues from all over the globe on a day to day basis.
The global operational buyer on site Nederland is situated in Terneuzen, report to the global Sourcing Manager who is responsible for Dutch speaking sites, situated in Amsterdam.
Your main accountabilities
Actively participate in the sourcing activities with the goal of achieving cost reductions, while maintaining or improving quality or vendor service levels;
Maintain procurement documents, files and records.
Representing Global Indirect Procurement in all Dutch and French speaking ICLs sites including participation in Engineering and Projects meetings.
Coordination of the implementation of contracts by the sites.
Assist sourcing managers in preparing RFQs, tabulating bids and provide general office support.
Issue purchase orders/call-offs;
Follow up on orders to ensure that items are shipped and delivered on time;
Negotiate with local suppliers and review, prepare, verify and/or approve financial and business transactions within established frameworks and guidelines.
Bachelor or Master degree;
Demonstrated skill at maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail;
At least 3 years of relevant work experience within Procurement;
Experience with ERP system(s) SAP;
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Languages: Excellent command of English, Dutch and French is required.
Location: ICL-IP EU, Terneuzen. Occasional travel to other sites (Scora and AmFert plant).
