The System Architect is recognized as an expert in his field. You contribute to the technical product development of Philips Digital & Computational Pathology medical product development. Based on your broad knowledge of system architecture, design and risk management in the healthcare industry you will have a central role within the development team. You have the total system overview, combined with in depth knowledge of medical product development.
You are responsible for
Leads system architecture development with HW/SW/IT architects or project leaders;
Performs technology assessments to enhance and/or support new and existing systems and helps to develop technology roadmaps under guidance/together with the Architects team;
Develops and Designs system architecture as part of the defined product / technology roadmap;
Is able to document and present system architecture to development managers, project leaders and development teams;
Plans and executes Safety Risk Management assessments and identifies mitigations and safety requirements;
Assists the project leader in a work breakdown and drafting realistic schedules;
Determines the required HW/SW interfaces in close consultation with the Architecture team, application specialists and subject matter experts;
Analyzes requirements of regulatory government & industry bodies (e.g. FDA, IVDR, ISO) and translates these into product requirements;
Owner of the System Requirements and System Designs for multiple projects/products;
Keeps up to date with new technology developments and introduces these into the organization;
Contributes to the department process improvement activities.

To succeed in this role
BSc / MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical education;
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Healthcare industry as a System Architect or System Designer (Experience in the Healthcare industry is key);
Deep understanding, incl. hands-on experience, in system architecture, design and development of multi-disciplinary modular systems;
Strong conceptual and analytical skills to find solutions to complex problems;
Experienced in dealing with system architecture in multi-disciplinary teams (HW, SW, IT, Regulatory, Quality etc.);
Experienced in Safety Risk Management according to ISO 14971;
Deep understanding of FDA Design Controls, IS0 14971 Risk Management processes and familiar with working under ISO 13485 Quality Systems;
Strong architecture design and modeling competencies;
Dealing with Ambiguity / Change;
Problem Solving and decisive.
