The Dow Chemical Company is looking for a Supply Chain Planning Specialist (m/f) to be based in Terneuzen, the Netherlands.
Purpose of the role
The purpose of this role within the Chlor-Alkali & Vinyl (CAV) business in EMEAI is to balance daily Caustic supply and demand at the production locations in Stade, and Schkopau, and the Ghent terminal, in line with the business supply chain strategy. The Supply Chain Planning Specialist is responsible for establishing an optimized daily asset plan for the short and mid-term horizon that balances priorities such as maximizing production asset utilization, service levels to in- and external customers while meeting inventory targets. The role involves responsibilities for monitoring production, road, railcar and vessel scheduling, terminal replenishment planning, as well as managing short term exceptions to the schedules to minimize their impact. In addition, it involves opportunity identification for improvement opportunities.
The Supply Chain Planning Specialist works in close collaboration with the Business Supply Chain Planner for Caustic/EDC (Ethylene DiChloride) and is part of a larger team of planners for the Polyurethanes & CAV envelope in EMEAI. Other key contact partners are manufacturing, customer service, product management and the Dow logistics organization.
Establish an optimized daily production plan that balances various priorities such as maximizing asset utilization, meeting inventory targets, minimizing transport cost between the assets while managing variability in demand.
Proactively identifies and remove constraints to execute the plan.
Continually monitor demand variability and supply performance to enable adjustments to the day to day plan as needed in order to meet the business priorities.
Lead collaboration with customer service, manufacturing, logistics, third-party service providers and business partners to meet business obligations in case of unplanned events.
Routinely check and track inventory quantity, slow-moving or other inventory statuses and ensures that inventory volumes meet the plan
Proactively communicate with customer service, supply chain planner, business and logistics partners to optimize service levels and to provide status updates as required.
Facilitate regular production scheduling meetings with manufacturing personnel and other schedulers integrated with the production site to ensure that operating plans are aligned.
Create and track metrics that indicate the performance of the plant against the schedule.
Drive excellence in supply chain scheduling by utilizing the most effective technology for asset scheduling.
Participate in supply chain improvement projects.
Identify opportunities to improve service level and supply chain cost reduction.
Ensures that production plan is properly reflected in SAP.
Maintain material master data in SAP.

Good analytical skills and supply chain planning knowledge.
Ability to perform under pressure.
Bachelor or University Degree in a discipline demonstrating logical thinking or computations skills.
Fluency in English (written & oral).
Advanced proficiency in German (minimum oral) is desired.
Preferably supply chain and SAP experience.
