The Global Centre of Expertise (CoE) Communications & Brand Experience brings ING’s purpose and strategy to life, positions ING as one brand and protects and enhances the bank’s reputation. In this context, the expert team ING Group Media Relations is responsible for devising, developing and implementing INGs corporate media strategy.
In the Media Relations team we are currently looking for a PR Officer dedicated to the international Wholesale Banking business. ING Wholesale Banking is a leading international bank with a presence in more than 40 countries, where around 13,000 colleagues serve a wide range of companies and organisations, including multinational corporations, financial institutions, governments and supranational bodies.
Where will you work?
The WB PR Officer will be part of the Media Relations team, consisting currently of three press officers/spokespersons and one expert lead. Working from INGs Amsterdam offices, the WB PR Officer also is a member of the dedicated Wholesale Banking squad within the CoE and will work closely with the various sectors and units of WB and with local communications teams.
What will you do?
Contribute to the PR and media strategy of ING Wholesale Banking, helping to increase familiarity with and coverage of the company and its products and services.
Identify publicity opportunities arising from business, social and regulatory trends and developments but also identify the associated reputational risks.
Develop, coordinate, execute, monitor and evaluate (pro-active) communication for various Wholesale Banking businesses including interviews, press releases, meetings and events.
Support and advise senior management and others on PR aspects including media opportunities, interviews and events including talent identification and training.
Set up and maintain a network of contacts with relevant media in targeted countries.
Identify and support
Coordinate and execute use of communication agencies including briefing, evaluation and where applicable selection.
Work closely with the other communication disciplines and local communications representatives.
Who are you?
You are an inspiring communications professional with proven experience in a similar role in B2B communications
You have a track record of preparing communications plans, briefings and press materials
You are familiar with discussing financial and corporate issues with professionals – knowledge of and affinity with the financial services sector is a plus.
You are a team player with excellent skills in building and maintaining relationships at several levels in a corporate environment
You have fluent command of English, Dutch is preferred
Ability to responsibly with highly sensitive and confidential information, requiring a high level of reaching discretion (a security assessment will be part of the onboarding process).
