The Deal Execution Team is part of Financial Restructuring & Recovery (FR&R) International Clients (IC&S). This team is responsible for managing credit exposures of all clients within the Commercial and Institutional Banking (CIB) business line with increased (credit) risk. Within Restructuring the goal is to improve the risk profile of the client, preferably without losing the client relationship and ultimately transfer back a client to the regular commercial teams of our bank. For the bigger part of the relationships managed by Restructuring we succeed in this. In case this cannot be realized, the credit relationship is transferred towards Recovery colleagues that are also part of FR&R. We are also more and more taking into account other (exit) routes, such as secondary sales or debt convertions into equity. As a restructurer you analyze the current (financial) situation, help determing the strategy & action plan, join credit committees and you are responsible for the internal (MI) processes . You play an important role in the alignment of internal and external stakeholders. It is also expected from a Restructurer that he/she will take a proactive role in documentation processes, as well as internal processes regarding regulatory (ECB) requests. As restructurer you will have contact with clients. Depending on the stage and level of distress of the restructuring and the composition of the dealteam, this client contact can be more or less frequent and intense. This requires besides hard skills, also soft skills. You will develop restructuring knowledge and will further improve your financial analytical skills. Secondments to other departments of ABN AMRO are sometimes also an option, besides a wide range of curriculum options. In the current dynamic social and regulatory scope of banking, the regulators and supervisors are an indisputably part of the restructuring playing field. Especially within FR&R IC&S, where on average the larger distressed exposures are managed, pro-actively coping with these stakeholders has become an element of day-to-day work. Also the changing banking landscape in general is impacting FR&R, therefore internal improvement processes and innovations are facilitated and encouraged within all FR&R teams.
