Where you fit
You will work alongside development teams to optimize field development and hydrocarbon (oil & gas) recovery. Our in-house built PetroSigns platform consists of multiple applications that support a range of subsurface development disciplines, including Geosciences, Petrophysics, Reservoir Engineering and Geomechanics. There are few places that will get you closer to Shells core activities.
As the PetroSigns team is moving from separate product lines to one integrated development effort, we are looking for three Release Train Engineers that have the ability to drive this change and support our ambition to take delivery to the next level.
Whats the role?
As a Release Train Engineer you will work in an international environmemt with multiple scrum teams to optimise delivery of the integrated Petrosign platform, and with your respective release train.
Building upon your SAFe Agilist experience and skillset, youll facilitate agile events, communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk and dependencies and drive relentless improvement efforts. All of this to ultimately assist the teams in delivering value and work towards an integrated release with the right delivery mindset.
More specific responsibilities will include:
Manage and optimize the software development flow. Assist tracking the delivery of value through the right features and capabilities in your individual release train.
Coach teams and scrum masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets and encourage collaboration between teams. Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks; Escalate and track impediments
Work with the Integration & Release manager, Product and Solution Management, Product Owners and other stakeholders to ensure strategy and execution alignment
Relentlessly identify and drive improvement initiatives that help the delivery effectiveness. For example, foster a Community of Practice with other Release Train Engineers and drive retrospectives and improvement initiatives throughout.
What we need from you
Next to your multiyear experience in IT and software development in an agile/scrum environment, we hope to see as many of the following on your CV:
Good knowledge of and experience with software development practices in general and Agile/Safe concepts.
Hands-on experience as RTE and/or experienced scum-master in various teams and projects.
RTE or Scrum certified is strongly preferable. Alternatively, any experience as LEAN practitioner, or training/certification in similar methodology (e.g. Six-Sigma) is desirable.
Delivery of continuous improvement/LEAN initiatives.
Strong business analysis skills and / or project management skills.
Solid interpersonal and communication skills: proven skills and experience in delivering by influence through others; and capable of identifying and interacting with different (senior) stakeholders.
Good knowledge of the geo science domain is an advantage.
Ability to lead in a dynamic environment.
