Our organization is looking for a Program Director who will help us to add impact and value in the development and deployment of software application for use across the Philips landscape. This dynamic global leader is leading a group of about 7 project managers (in Netherlands, both in Amsterdam and Eindhoven) who are in charge of projects related to application and software development in the Q&R space.
You are responsible for the following:
Establishing and running the scope, critical path and budget of multiple complex projects at one time; this includes collaborating and communicating clearly with partners and utilizing key project management tools (Risk Management Plan, Program/Project Plan, Schedule, Resource Plan, Daily Management, RACIs, etc.) to effectively mitigate risks and provide clear direction.
Responding to, solving and making decisions on business requests that have broader department impact and/or moderate risk. Presents alternative solutions to business issues by using the total organization.
For own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff. Typically influences work of cross-functional or extended teams.
Assisting Head of PMO and Senior Leadership in achieving business results by acting in a consultative fashion to implement programs impacting the broader organization; this while being a consistent advocate for their own team while holding them accountable for results and high performance
Negotiating budgets, resources and timing while building program/project plans and negotiates team assignments with functional managers.
Coaching, mentoring, leading and developing Program Managers within PMO.
Accountable for meeting compliance requirements of external governing authorities, internal Quality Management Systems and Philips business process methodologies (e.g., PEPF, SIM)
Take a lead role in the recruitment, development and coaching of talent across the PMO.
You are a part of
the Q&R Program Management Office, responsible for a third of the Project Portfolio in support of software applications development. This portfolio is sustained by several Project Managers co-located in the US and Netherlands.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
A bachelor/master degree in business administration, engineering, supply chain operations, Quality Management or a related field.
At least 12 years working experience of which at least 8 years of direct work experience in a project management/program management environment
Background in a regulated area like medical device, pharma, automotive, aerospace or with other strong regulations is required
5+ years directly leading projects experience related to developing, testing, building, and deploying software solutions (entire software development life cycle) with IT project management experience
Software and application development, validation, testing and risk management experience
Strong leadership skills, negotiations skills and able to unite people
Shown experience with leading multiple highly complex projects in a complex matrix organization
Strong ability to lead projects remotely, with teams located in various sites and/or countries
Experience with software validation norms and compliance requirements in the medical device industry
Experience in managing a team of at least 5 people
Background in Quality is preferred
