As the Merchandise Planner Outlet you will join the MEA+NL team at our European head office in Amsterdam. You will be responsible for the pre-season planning and in-season management on NL Outlet Business store portfolios performance. Additionally, you will be responsible for all NL Outlet Buying activities in creating a coherent and commercially successful product assortment to drive maximum bottom line net margin.
Position Description and responsibilities:
You will be responsible for:
Pre-season Planning: Proactively create annual sales forecast based on historical performance, trends, store input etc. After sign-off, creating and calculating a detailed range plan for assigned classification(s) that provides options as input for the assortment plan
Buying: Responsible for all NL Outlet buying activities creating a coherent and commercially successful product assortment (extensive Special Production program) to drive maximum bottom line net margin. Represent the Region during Adoption meetings securing proper product offering for NL
In season management/trading: Monitoring budget, items and stores, proactively driving corrective actions, including buying extra stock or clearances, within the guidelines, to ensure optimal stock management and contribution to the realization of the standards with regards to margin and turnover
Allocation: Manage and develop the allocator and advise on strategic allocation plans through thorough and continuous analyses.
Analysis and management information: Analyzes financial trends (e.g. sales, markdown, profit margins, pricing and promotions), customer trends (e.g. segmentations, destination departments), product trends (winners and losers) and competitor trends to create input for a detailed range plan
3+ years relevant experience in merchandise planning, financial planning or merchandising.
Experienced with merchandise management systems & processes
Product affinity passion for product and understanding of assortment building
Cross-cultural skills and flexible approach
Communication skills and ability to work in a team
Highly Commercial and analytical skills
Highly organized and detailed oriented
Structured and reliable work ethic
Ability to prioritize a demanding, workload and time manage effectively
Excellent command of English language – verbal and written
Advanced knowledge of Excel
