Internship: Factory IT Knowledge System Investigation

NXP Manufacturing IT
Manufacturing IT Nijmegen implements, develops and maintains IT solutions that enables the semiconductor factory ICN8 to run their operations effectively and efficiently and to continuously improve their performance. The factory has a high level of automation and equipment integration. ICN8s performance depends heavily on availability of IT systems, and innovations in the functionality offered. There is a large variety of well-integrated commercial and in-house developed IT systems, the majority of which based on the Grails framework (Java).
The applications run in a fully redundant on-premise cloud running Linux and Windows Server. Functional areas covered include shop floor control, fab logistics, industrial engineering, factory automation and equipment integration, quality control (on processes, products and equipment), data engineering, data analytics and reporting.
You will be working in the IT Operations team to help us further improving the IT support to our factory.
Investigating alternatives for our Factory IT knowledge system.
Taking into account requirements like accessibility under all circumstances even during major incidents, easy to manage, easy to edit/update, low costs.
Presenting the alternatives including pros and cons of each alternative and a recommendation.
Creating a plan for implementation.
Effective communication skills
Good analysis and problem-solving skills
You are an enrolled Bachelor/HBO student in ICT, Computer Science, Engineering or related
Enthusiastic and showing initiative
Able to work independently and as part of a small team
Project approach (mindset) with can doattitude
The duration of the internship will be a minimum of 6 months. You will work for 40 hours a week starting January 2020.
Please note that in order to be considered for an internship/working student position, you need to be registered as a student during the entire period.
