Job Description :
Innovation is a key growth driver for Diageo, with a very strong track record of thought leadership, delivery and execution against consumer, business and customer needs. It is one of the 6 Must Dos in Diageos long term performance ambition.
The Scotch Centre of Excellence (COE) team is part of the Global Innovation team. The COE is focused on developing and delivering a strategic, scalable and sustainable innovation pipeline for Johnnie Walker and is critical to our ambition to be the Most desired, enjoyed and talked about whisky in every market we compete, reaching 2.1bn NSV by F21 and recruiting 12.2m new drinkers each year.
The scope of this role will be primarily focused on key, global Johnnie Walker innovation projects, including liquid and format innovation and a pipeline of cultural Limited Editions. It represents a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate strong cross functional leadership, taking great ideas from concept to execution, working across the Innovation, Marketing, Commercial and Supply functions while influencing and aligning a broad range of local, regional and global stakeholders.
This role reports to the Global Head of Johnnie Walker Innovation. COE
Full accountability for project development and commercialisation budgets through the Gate process.
Development of new product pricing chains and creation of P&L proposals through Gate process.

200th Anniversary Innovation
Blue Label Innovation
Multiple in-market and global stakeholders: Local market Innovation teams, Innovation Commercialisation, Global and Local brand teams, Supply Scotland, Commercial teams, Legal, CR, Finance
Develop and implement key projects for Johnnie Walkers 200th Birthday, Blue Label and Formats as critical parts of JW innovation pipeline
Lead, motivate and inspire cross functional teams and agency partners create clarity, align and deliver to a common goal behind key projects
Engage and influence stakeholders (Local & Global Brand Teams etc)
Provide strategic and creative leadership in the development and commercialisation of new products move effectively between strategy and operational detail
Create the space for creativity in all we do, from concepts, to marketing through to business transformation
Develop world-class innovation that meets the needs of whisky consumers and customers in the lead market(s).
Purpose of Role
This role is a critical delivery of the Johnnie Walker Innovation strategy and pipeline
Requires significant orchestration and coordination capabilities given JW global scale, importance and myriad of functional touchpoints.
You must demonstrate a flair for consumer insight, creativity and project management skills. The agenda is challenging and will be achieved by the creation of highly differentiated product offerings.
The role covers innovation end to end; from strategic opportunity identification, through ideation and concept development to commercialisation through the Innovation gate process.

Lead and deliver global JW projects in line with overall JW strategy at agreed scale on time and in budget
Lead and influence cross functional project teams (GBT, Marketing, Customer Marketing, Supply, Technical, Legal and Financial), agencies and local Execs
Creation of highly distinctive product and marketing offers based in cultural and local insight in prestige and HNWI segment
Utilise the NAVIGATE & PLANVIEW process, delivering GATES on agreed timelines and compliance measures
Qualifications and Experience Required
5+ years work experience at or above brand manager level
Proven ability in:
Leveraging consumer, shopper and customer insights
Developing consumer and customer driven strategy
Developing & managing all elements of the marketing mix
Delivering successful projects by leading a cross-functional team
Strong team player while influencing peers and executive level in both a local & global context
