The IT Manager / Site Lead will join the IT team supporting a growing R&D Organization of the Materials & Structural Analysis Division (MSD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific, helping our customers to answer their business needs.
This role is based at Eindhoven, Netherlands site, currently divisions largest R&D site, with more than 200 scientists and engineers working to develop our next generations of high performance electron microscopes.
How will you make an impact?
Reporting to IT Director, this position will play a key role in evolving the PLM platform and will need to understand how the PLM platform and associated Engineering applications support Thermo Fisher Scientific MSD business needs with focus on R&D and Operations Engineering functions.
This role will also be responsible to oversee IT site specific support and will act as the IT liaison for site leadership team.
What will you do?
Lead the global IT PLM team on projects and production support and work with other IT teams in supporting business.
Work with business users and applications teams to identify, prioritize and document IT system/process enhancements and new implementations to support business needs.
Coordinate system design activities and perform business/system impact analysis on initiatives to introduce, modify or upgrade the PLM applications.
Follow the company’s Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices, methodologies and change control policy in support of the development and rollout of IT technologies.
Assist with support of various business applications within division as needed to provide effective IT support services.
Acts as the IT liaison for the assigned site and corporate leadership teams.
Provides technical consulting and problem resolution at the leadership level.
Work with the corporate IT teams to evaluate and make recommendations to ensure that the IT systems support site operations and expanding business needs.
Support financial planning and tracking of IT related expenses and investments.
Manage site specific vendor contracts and relationships, ensuring established SLAs are being met.
Implement standard IT operating procedures, ensures effective functioning of IT systems and support adoption of new processes leveraging e.g. Agile and DevOps principles.
Communicate issues or risks in a timely and effective manner and develops mitigation plans to address issues.
7+ years experience with supporting a business applications – preferably Product Life Cycle (e.g. Siemens Teamcenter) or similar Engineering applications.
Experience with leading IT projects from initiation to closure.
Experience with leading IT teams including building application roadmaps and support plans, driving team performance, assisting in managing IT budgets.
Team player with the ability to work effectively with changing priorities in a dynamic and global environment.
Experience working in a matrix and shared services environment.
Global cross cultural experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience with SDLC concepts, methodologies and techniques (e.g. Agile, DevOps, CI/CD). Bachelors degree in business, computer science, engineering or related field. MBA preferred.
