Global Transformation Office – Change Portfolio Analyst

INGs future aim is to be the next generation digital bank, offering a single digital platform or ecosystem where customers can find solutions to all of their financial and finance-related needs. This platform will provide a customer experience that is clear, convenient and consistent across borders, and will be open to selected third-party products and services.
To enable execution of the ThinkForward strategy, ING has setup a Global Transformation Office (GTO) which is a team that works closely with CEO/COO and ING Board, as well as representatives from all business units and functions under the COO, and stakeholders across the Bank.
GTOs focus is two-fold: firstly, it provides coordination, assurance and optimization of the global change portfolio, managing INGs strategic investment governance globally. Secondly, it works jointly with the various stakeholders to develop and deploy strategic transformation programs bank-wide, aligning new initiatives (local and global) with the existing change road-map, and coordinating design and implementation across functions and countries as required.
As part of the GTO team, you will be responsible for:
Driving and coordinating the bank wide Quarterly Business Review for more than forty global transformation programs and their impact on twelve countries
Running the operations in the Transformation Obeya Room. The Obeya Room is used to monitor the largest and most important strategic transformation programs and management inter-dependencies. The room is used for monthly board level discussions
Assuring portfolios/programmes by keeping track of financials, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and milestones in line with business cases
Helping to guide change programmes through the transformation process (e.g. gated process), coordinating follow-up on impediments and around any required reporting
Ensuring data quality of portfolio inventory (financials, milestones, KPIs)
Identifying inter-dependencies, impediments and areas of concern in the transformation portfolio and supporting issue resolution where required to improve return on investment and executional certainty
Conducting regular data collection and conducting in-depth analysis on the respective change portfolios (overall status, execution, financials-investments and benefits, risks)
Supporting the transformation process and method application and adherence by country, portfolio and program managers
Excellent communication skills – ability to present formal / informal findings in a clearly defined and persuasive manner
Ability to deal well with ambiguity and new content in a very broad range of situations
Focused and result oriented, ability to function effectively individually as well as in a group
Emotional resilience and confidence: adapts easily to new environments; remains calm, and continues to perform under pressure; talks openly and honestly; gives and acts on constructive feedback.
The challenge in this role is facilitating, navigating and influencing the matrix, finding the right balance between our global strategy and local/entity plans. The ability to effectively manage senior stakeholders (Transformation Officers, Business Portfolio managers, CEOs and Heads of Global Functions e.g. HR, Finance etc.) and create consensus while driving the change. Ability to gain peoples commitment and achieve good cooperation between teams is also crucial for the success of this position.
