You will have the opportunity to join a well-respected and high performing global executive search team that today handles close to 90% of all global executive hires within Philips. The team is mirrored after an external search firm structure and is seen as an integral partner and advisor to the Philips Executive Committee and various business, market, and functional leadership teams.
The Executive Pipeline Program (EPP) is a global program that is focused on providing the Philips organization with external executive level talent to cater to the long-term succession planning and capability needs of Philips globally. The program is part of the Executive Search Services team within the Global HR function.
The Executive Talent Scout is responsible for driving the EPP projects from initiation to completion. In this position your focus will be on proactively building and engaging external talent pools to address succession planning gaps and on leading proactive talent attraction for our business critical roles and new capabilities across the executive level (VP, SVP and EVP) positions within the global Philips organization. You will capture the key information from kick-off meetings, create the search strategy and approach potential candidates and manage the projects according to the agreed timelines and deliverables. This is a critical role within the EPP function due to the seniority and sensitivity of the projects.
As a member of the EPP team this role reports to EPP Consultant who is globally responsible for the Executive Pipeline Program. The preferred location for the Executive Talent Scout is Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Drive the talent pipeline responsibility by engaging high-quality passive talents (typically via email, social media, teleconference, and in-person interactions) assessing their availability, credibility and suitability for current or future positions at Philips. Subsequently refine talent pools and leverage continuous candidate engagement opportunities. Establish strong candidate relationships to focus on candidate long-term career objectives in addition to short term job opportunities.
Providing credible participation in the Recruitment Strategy Meetings for succession planning and pipeline projects and where needed active searches.
In conjunction with the EPP and ESS Consultants, develop an effective and compelling presentation to market Philips and the role to prospective candidates
Collaborate with the EPP and ESS Consultants to create and implement the sourcing strategy for each potential search.
Executing recruitment strategies, i.e.: phone generation (proactive recruiting) of candidates, networking within niche and function, identifying applicable associations, professional groups and affiliations, websites, Boolean searches, targeting competing companies, etc.
Develop robust screening questions that will narrow the active candidate pool to a manageable volume. Qualify candidates for cultural, experiential and financial fit, utilizing a behavior based interview approach based on the core competencies identified with client
Manage all candidates through the process, providing a high level of candidate care
Help manage all related administrative duties related to the search process including status reports, candidate assessments, feedback/scorecard collection, etc. Assist with the interview scheduling process when necessary.
Participate in internal client facing meetings representing the executive recruitment team in a professional and compelling way.
Leverage opportunities with candidates to prompt career conversations, facilitate in-formation exchange to address career concerns and work towards facilitating candidate career aspirations towards Philips
BA/BS degree required, MA/MS degree is a plus.
5+ years of recruiting experience. At least three years experience recruiting executive level talent.
Highly developed passive recruiting skills, i.e.: prospect identification, cold calling, referral generation, competitive intelligence gathering, and organization breakouts. Proven experience utilizing complex internet searches, social and professional networking groups, blogs, diversity resources, competitor research and the development of existing candidate relationships to build pipelines of executive level talent.
Experience in working within matrix global teams across different time zones and geographies
Ability to consistently deliver a high quality pipeline of candidates under very tight timelines
Strong project management skills; Capable of developing and executing upon thoughtful project/recruiting strategies and then methodically working those projects to a successful completion. The ability to establish rapport quickly, engage challenging executives and develop trusting relationships.
Training and experience with behavior based interviewing and assessment techniques.
Direct experience in the healthcare/medical device or consumer products sectors is a plus.
Competence working both individually and as a team member. Candidate should demonstrate the ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, make quick decisions and work with highly confidential information.
High proficiency with CRM software or executive search database tools (experience with Avature is a plus)
Experience with social media and other tools for recruiting (especially LinkedIn)
Ability to work 5 days a week
Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must (fluency in English required, multilingual skills a plus)
