As DevOps Engineer, you are part of a scrum team that owns a set of services that are part of our complete Twinfield Online Accounting cloud service, one of the largest online accounting cloud services in Europe. Together with your team, you take care of the design, development, maintenance, deployment and operation of the services youre responsible for.
In this team, your focus is on ensuring that the stuff the team builds is ready for prime time. Using your experience and knowledge of the state of the art in deployment automation, production monitoring, performance, and scaling, preferably in an Azure environment, you play an instrumental role in expediting our journey to the public cloud.
Your responsibilities include:
Joint refinement and planning of the stories of your team
Development and automated testing of deployment and monitoring tooling
(Automatic) monitoring of service health
Analysis and resolution of production issues
Automated configuration management
Continuous improvement of our deployment pipeline
This is why we need you
Youll be working out of our office in either Hoevelaken or Heerenveen, as part of a scrum team. Were quite international: we have development locations in the Ukraine, Rumania, India, and Spain, next to our home base in The Netherlands. Youll be interacting with all of these teams regularly. Four times a year, we conduct a big room planning with all teams. Two of those we use to get everybody together in one location.
We are in the midst of the transition to the public cloud, not only from a technological perspective, but also from a process and organization perspective. Thats why its so important that you have a clear vision on the dos and donts in this transition. Your help and input will be invaluable to us in making the right choices. Day by day!
You have a bachelor in Computer Science or similar.
You have at least 5 years of coding experience.
Ability to use a wide variety of open and closed source technologies and tools (Elastic Search, Kibana, Application Insights.
Experience with Systems and IT operations (Microsoft Azure specifically, including their complete service offering).
Comfortable with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment (unit and integration test level, infrastructure as code).
Strong grasp of automation tools (specifically those of the .Net/Azure ecosystem, but experience with Chef, Puppet or Ansible is also good).
Data management skills (Both SQL and NoSQL).
Strong focus on business outcomes.
Champion in collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders.
Experience in a cloud environment in which storage and processing of confidential (financial and personal) information is key is advantageous.
Temporary contract of seven months with the intention to offer you a permanent contract so we can check if the role fulfills both our expectations.
25 vacation days based on a 40 hours labor week.
In addition, you receive travel costs 0.19 per kilometer. If you travel by public transport, we fully reimburse those costs.
For the accrual of your pension, Wolters Kluwer will pay 50% as an employer. You will need to contribute the other 50% yourself.
