Our Innovation Business Control Team
Our Innovation Business Control team currently consists of three people and we are a part of the Innovation organization. With our background in business finance and controlling, we support and challenge the Innovation organization to meet Trouw Nutritions business objectives. We do this based on sound financial steering, business analysis and the delivery of actionable insights.
We are looking for a Controller to join our team and you report directly to the Innovation Business Control Manager. You support the Innovation organization to meet its business objectives by delivering high quality reports and analyses that contribute to effective steering of the business globally.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As Controller, you play an important role in running key finance processes such as reporting of financial results, creating high quality reports and ensuring data consistency between various systems. Your main areas of responsibility are:
Support the planning & control cycle that includes the reporting of actual results and the preparation of annual budgets:
Support the month-end closure procedure on actuals and forecast of the Trouw Nutrition Innovation entities.
Prepare information to management such as periodical reports and presentations on various topics.
Perform financial analysis of actual performance compared to plan and last year.
Prepare tailored periodical reports on key performance indicators such as volumes, revenues and sales profits:
Obtain information from automated reports (e.g. Business Objects) and systems (e.g. ERP system, financial consolidation system).
Ensure quality and consistency of relevant product and services data.
Analyse deviations between actual and budgeted performance and write observations where appropriate.
Follow up on observations with relevant departments to identify root causes of deviations.
Distribute reports among members of the Innovation Management Team and other key internal stakeholders.
As a dedicated team member of the Innovation Business Control team, you are also encouraged to improve finance processes. This could for example be the way we generate high quality reports, or the way we do month-end closure.
In addition, the position offers the opportunity to be expanded into other areas of finance and business controlling. Dependent of your experience and interest, this could for example be to provide support to the Feed Additives Director on reporting, annual budgeting, strategic planning and preparation of ad hoc analyses. Or you might participate in project teams that are working on for example improvements of controls, automation of processes, and implementing best practices.
This is a full-time position with our global headquarters in Amersfoort, The Netherlands. Occasionally you will attend meetings in our office in Boxmeer.
Experience in financial and/or business controlling roles in which you have worked with periodical reporting and supporting of the planning and control cycle. You have experience from one or more globally operating companies.
BSc / MSc in Business Economics, Business Administration, Finance or comparable.
Strong analytical skills with a sense for Business and Controlling.
Demonstrated ability to combine an overall view with a concern for accuracy and details.
Advanced user of Excel, PowerPoint, Hyperion and ERP systems, and you are able to present financial insights in an understandable way.
A team-player that communicates and collaborates well with business colleagues in the global HQ and in various functions.
An open and constructive mind-set, and a flexible attitude. Self-driven, results-orientated and able to work independently with a sense of urgency and able to get things done.
Preferable you like to improve existing practices and suggest possibilities for improvements.
Fluent in English (writing, reading and speaking) is mandatory, and knowledge of other languages is a plus.
