The Philips Digital Pathology Solutions (PDPS) venture started May 2007. The venture is establishing a worldwide business for Digital Pathology Solutions encompassing the Philips Ultra Fast scanner for microscope tissue slides and am Image Management System within a Healthcare Informatics environment. The market launch of the first solutions was in 2011. The venture is now expanding in North America, Europa and Asia.
You are responsible for
Contributing to system architecture development with the Architecture team consisting of Hardware/Software and IT architects.
Performing technology assessments to enhance and/or support new and existing systems and helps to develop technology roadmaps under guidance/together with the Architects team
Developing and Designing system architecture as part of the defined product / technology roadmap
Documenting and presenting system architecture to development managers, project leaders and development teams
Technically responsible (together with the project leader) for designing and implementing the required functionality.
Assisting the project leader in a work breakdown and drafting realistic schedules.
Determining the required Hardware and software interfaces in close consultation with the Architecture team, application specialists and subject matter experts.
Analyzing requirements of regulatory government & industry bodies (e.g. FDA, NIST) and translating these into product requirements
Owner of the System Requirements and System Designs for multiple projects/products.
Contributing to the department process improvement activities.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Master or Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical education;
6 years’ experience in the medical / healthcare industry as a System Architect or System Designer for multi-disciplinary modular systems;
Deep understanding of FDA Design Controls, IS0-14971 Risk Management and familiar with working under ISO-13485 Quality Systems;
Strong conceptual and analytical skills to find solutions to complex problems;
Excellent written and verbal communication in the English language and interpersonal skills;
Strong architecture design competencies à documenting is your nature;
Affinity with image / signal processing;
Dealing with Ambiguity / Change;
A background in software development is a plus.
