Senior Project Leader Corporate Development (investments, M&A, strategy)
The Hague Local Commercial/Sales/Business Development Ref.: AT-144024 APM Terminals Business/Corporate Development team is responsible for portfolio investment transactions and executing the portfolio strategy (greenfield projects/tenders, expansions, acquisitions, divestments, mergers etc.).
This position Drives growth agenda within Africa, Middle East and Asia, secures high yield projects and maintains relationships with market. Manages project portfolio, review and valuation and validation of opportunities, acquisitions and divestments globally or within area of responsibility.

Developing roles and responsibilities for a key terminal for APM Terminals in the region
Key Responsibilities • For area of scope manages the identification-, structuring-, negotiation- closing and preparation for the integration process for all future mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and new projects.
For area of scope identifies opportunities with our customers to create value in existing APM Terminals’ facilities and/or new locations.
Analyses existing contracts and suggests improvements
Manages the due diligence processes (including relevant third party stakeholders) for area of scope.
For area of scope executes on portfolio plays and resolutions. Is the business partner to the relevant business leaders and ensures the bottom up strategies are in line with the global portfolio strategy.
Provides leadership and direction through the team consisting of BDV managers and Analysts. Develops people – coaching and mentoring to build organizational capability, talent and bench strength.
Together with business leaders and senior management develops the business development and investment strategies in specific areas.
Provides input for decision-making to senior managers within the functional/geographic area.
Delivers business cases to provide executive-level analyses to present the business plans to other Senior Management Team members, the CEO, Transport and Logistics Board.
Who we are looking for Qualification and background
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, and Business Administration, MBA preferred
Consistent experience within the job scope, 10-12 years increasing responsibility in Strategy or M&A/ Business Development and Investment Banking.
2-5 years direct managerial experience in a multi- national company.
Experience with the port and shipping market
Skills and experience
Proven ability to negotiating/closing of deals (incl, leading due diligence processes)
Proven ability with multi-partner deals (Joint Ventures, Institutional finance, Government & Industrial).
Knowledgeable with the dynamics of concessions and joint ventures and preferably
Experienced with large infrastructure projects.
Ability to swiftly act between multiple projects with demanding deadlines.
Comfortable in transitioning organisational structures.
Is a proactive business partner to the relevant business leaders.
Thinks and acts strategically at shareholder level, as well as on operating level.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills at executive level (both verbal and written). Possess empathy, personal tact, and multi-cultural understanding. Strong networker and relationship manager.
Strong (corporate) finance skills including experience and knowledge of valuation, modelling, synergy quantification, risk and upside evaluation
Strong analytical mind and ability to solve problems and overcome business and legal constraints
English fluency written and spoken, other languages (preferably with focus on emerging markets) and international work experience are beneficial
