Senior Accountant – Eindhoven

The European Finance Department is located in the European HQ in Eindhoven. The Senior Accountant reports to the Finance Manager en gives functional guidance to the Finance department (2-4 FTE).
Tasks and responsibilities
We are looking for a self-starting and driven Senior Account who can help and support the Finance department in ensuring full control of all the organizational processes that impact the transactions to our General Ledger. You will do this through pro-actively liaising with other departments and the other members of the Finance team. You will analyze and improve the processes that cause reconciliation differences in our accounts. You will be responsible for all compliance and external reporting requirements for the entities and the countries they operate in.
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly and year end close,
Ensure correct Accounting and Compliance of processes outside your direct control, but which impact to the transactions to General Ledger or (external) reporting (e.g. Invoicing, Purchasing, Inventory, Logistics, Fixed Assets, Banks, Contracts, Subsidies), Account reconciliation and analysis: ensure well supported and reconciled balances,
Ensure compliance with IFRS on group level and the General Accepted Accounting Principles for the countries we have subsidiaries in (France and Spain),
Ensure compliance with Tax and other Regulations in the countries we operate in, (CIT, VAT, Payroll Tax, National Statistics Agencies in The Netherlands, Spain, and France mainly, but also other European countries)
Plan, coordinate and execute the audit for our Dutch entities and any ad hoc audit in the countries they operate in,
Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure,
Supports budget and forecasting activities,
Support the preparation of periodic (management) reporting,
Ensure control over our cash position and cash forecasting,
Special projects and process improvements as required. Senior Accountant European HQ position Candidate profile:
Bachelor degree (HBO) or Master degree (WO) in Finance, Accounting or Business Economics
Experience in External Reporting (preparing Financial Statements in IFRS and/or Dutch GAAP, Taxes, etc.)
5 – 7 years of relevant experience in a similar function is required,
Of which 3+ years of experience at an Audit firm is considered a plus,
Proficient Excel skills,
Knowledge of MS Dynamics NAV is considered a plus,
ERP set-up knowledge and/or ERP migration experience is considered a plus,
Knowledge of database query tools and/or BI tools is considered a plus. Language requirements: English and Dutch
