Are you the modeler/administrator that will help our team get to the next level? Join our ILS team at Aegon Netherlands and shape this role into a success! As a junior modeller/administrator you will have a combined role:
You will receive formal and on-the-job training to become a junior ILS modeler:
In this role you will support the senior catastrophe modeler, the portfolio structurer and the underwriter with the following tasks:
Development of the catastrophe risk models and methodologies.
Process month end risk calculations for internal and external stakeholders as a key driver for regular reporting.
Maintain an automated Large Loss claims database.
Quotation and risk assessment on different particular (re) insurance lines.
Support the pricing process for various investment opportunities.
Support the development of Solvency II methodology and technology
The second important part of this role is the setup and management of administrative processes, tools en reports:
You will be responsible for the administration, trading & settlement and cash management of an ILS investment portfolio for the Aegon NL general account
You will have regular interaction with various stakeholders like the reporting office, risk department, group treasury, auditors, external custodian, insurance/reinsurance companies and Aegon board members
You are the owner of the trading, settlement, reporting and administration processes of ILS team and you are responsible for the day to day cash management, inwards funds, outward payments and treasury needs of the ILS portfolio
Also, you are responsible for the production of input for IFRS reports, Solvency II reports, Risk reports and Management reports, in co-operation with the Aegon NL reporting departments.
In order to do this, you will manage all inward and outward communications, understand and assist in maintaining the administration system.
Both roles are expected to take each about 50% of your time. Profiel As a junior modeller/administrator you have excellent interpersonal and good verbal and written communication skills. You are able to use initiative, as well as sound organisational and time management skills and you are eager to continually seek improvement. Moreover, you have the following qualifications:
University degree in Math, Econometrics, Quantitative finance or other quantitative degree.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office in addition to knowledge and understanding of risk modelling toolkits coupled with general programming skills (R, SQL, VBA, Matlab, C#)
