    IT Operations Trainee

    Technology at Optiver

    In order to be successful in our trading domain, we constantly need the most advanced technology, trading software and connections to the market. In short, we need the best technologists to develop, optimise and support our systems and tools. With 12 datacenters and thousands of servers we run ten thousands of trading components executing hundred thousands of trades every day. These systems produce a lot of data that needs to be wrangled to turn it into valuable information for different areas of the business.

    IT Operations Talent Programme

    As our new IT Operations Trainee you will be assigned to a challenging 1−2 year program that consist of a combination of work and study. You will start in a Desktop support role where you will act as the first line of support for all issues related to our Tech Office team. This will give you the opportunity to become acquainted with all departments within Optiver quickly. You will be expected to ensure that incidents are identified and addressed. With your great communication skills, you are able to involve and inform all of our internal departments about the progress of their requests and incidents.

    In addition we will provide you with an extensive study programme that offers you internally− and externally accredited trainings (such as operating systems management, networks and project management), to give you the skills required to become an IT professional. Through the IT Operations Talent Programme, you will develop your knowledge of IT and Optiver to such an extent that you will be able to grow further within our Infrastructure or trading teams.

    What you’ll need:
    at least Bachelor’s level related to Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent;

    the ambition and potential to develop a successful IT career;

    huge drive to learn; be able to combine work and study;

    an affinity with IT;

    excellent communication skills, fluency in English is required;

    the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation;

    enthusiasm combined with a collaborative attitude;

    a hands−on mentality and a structured way of working.
