Head of Supplier Relationship & Contract Management
We are looking for a Head of Supplier Relationship and Contract Management to be a part of Maersk Line’s ambitious procurement team based in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The team is responsible for negotiating agreements for Maersk Line within North Europe and making sure that we hold an excellent relationship with our vendors. Responsibilities and Duties
Being part of the Maersk Line Procurement team in Rotterdam you will be responsible for value delivery after the deal is signed. On one side this will be through leading the contract managers located in our regional and local operations centre (7 FTE) and on the other side by managing our supplier relationships in continental Europe.
You will also supporting the procurement teams who make the deals on port negotiations, terminal and inland services. This includes providing input on the category strategies as well as market and contract intelligence.
The function also needs to ensure contract implementation and follow up and measure supplier performance where the expectation is to implement new standard process for both contract- and supplier relationship processes.
We expect you to build rapport with vendors and role model teamwork with the procurement managers and drive home value out of the contracts and the relationships.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate holds a Master Economics or Business Degree. This is combined with 5+ years of relevant experience either as a senior category manager or through procurement in a leading company. Experience doing procurement in or project management in Europe is a strong advantage.
The candidate possesses leadership skills and has experience developing a team and implementing standard processes.
One has an ability to challenge status quo, identify opportunities and drive improvements and deliver results.
Strong interpersonal skills are a must to build relationships with vendors as well as a successful track record of stakeholder management is a must as we work in a regional setting.
Traveling is a requirement and German, Dutch or French language skills a plus.
