Content Protection Market Unit
The mission of the content protection team is to grow media revenue. We focus on building, delivering and supporting leading fit-for-purpose emerging market- and media solutions for pay media operators and content owners. Innovating with and supporting technology partners is also one of our main responsibilities.
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager with Agile Coaching experience to lead our engineering teams and coach them in their agile software development processes. This exciting combined role enables you to provide technical coaching to our teams whilst also interfacing with Product Owners/Release Managers etc. You will directly report into the Engineering Director.
Main areas you will cover in this role:
People management : you will provide leadership to the team and be responsible for any needed recruitment (including graduate hires), resource allocating, succession planning, performance management and technical mentoring and training.
Software Development Processes: by keeping yourself up-to-date on the latest best practices for agile software development lifecycle processes and technologies you will be responsible for leading the definition, documentation and implementation of the development and testing lifecycle, tools and processes. You will also educate and train new and existing team members to follow these processes.
Promote Innovation: you will drive improvements in the team’s execution to achieve lifecycle efficiency and software quality improvements, and initiate and drive invention disclosures.
Technical: you will assess which platforms and standards the team should adhere to and are expected to develop, maintain and encourage the use of processess such as automation strategy, quality coding and technical documentation standards, and configuration management. You will provide technical coaching to your team members and also manage technical relationships with tooling suppliers.
Agile coaching : You will run and facilitate on-going scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, sprint retrospective, and daily stand-up meetings take place). You are accountable for time boxing (2-4 weeks) the planning and excecutions of sprints, and are equipped to anticipate and proactively track/record/remove/escalate any impediments along the way. You will facilitate the team in identifying and managing internal and cross-team dependencies with respect to product development and will gather & disseminate release information on a regular basis, documenting team agreements, sprint plans, release plans, and retrospectives. All whilst creating an environment that encourages positive team spirit and excitement about delivering high quality products!
Required Candidate Experience & Skills:
Obtained an MSc/BSc in Computer Science or a related field
Minimum. 1+ year experience as people manager or technical lead (including previous experience in recruiting, motivating and leading a team)
Minimum. 2+ years’ professional experience as Scrum Master/Agile Coach
Minimum. 5+ years’ professional experience within software development or test automation (you are comfortable with using/setting up development environments and tooling)
Minimum. 5+ years’ experience in a Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) and/or IP environment
Minimum. 3+ years’ experience with computer architecture and digital (hardware) design
Have a positive, “can-do” attitude and are able to excite, convince and motivate employees, partners and customers with a compelling vision
Good organizational and time management skills
Strong English verbal and written communications skills
