Director Business Traveler
(Entrepreneur with successful growth-hacking track record)
At this moment we are hiring a Director Business Traveler to lead Travix’ commercial proposition for the Business Traveler target group (frequent traveler). We believe Business Travelers book and schedule travel more and more online, separating away from the traditional B2B Travel Management Companies (TMC’s); especially the unmanaged SME Business Travelers. The role reports to our Chief Commercial Officer and is a pipeline position to a bigger leadership post at Travix. In this exciting role you define and lead the new idea from concept to business and will be 100% accountable for its success. This document describes the key challenges and opportunities of the job. Our aim is to be the best in flights, the be the online global travel retailer offering the best deals to consumers. This is an ambitious goal and will not be possible without the people who work for our brands with entrepreneurial drive each day.
As the Director Business Traveler you will be challenged to establish and deliver a new business proposition from scratch to high-value. You are the leader in charge and you act as an entrepreneur who builds its own end-to-end proposition for this segment. For sure you can and will build on a global established platform with great technology and product. Your first main job will be to create a business plan based on current thoughts and studies already done, followed by a detailed overview of required features, products, services and marketing plan to Go-Live. This role offers a unique chance to truly take ownership in driving the growth of our business.
As this is a true business development position within an already established business you will need to collaborate strongly with stakeholders and involved people to line them up for your key goals. As such you will initially lead a virtual team and hugely depend on your lateral influencing skills. Depending on the success and growth of the new business you will be able to expend with an own direct team. The new business development will go hand in hand with establishing strong external partnerships and identifying external alliances and possible suppliers.
Travix is now known as a company with strong consumer brand and consumer focus, you can change this and add the Business Traveler touch and conquer new market segments. When successfully launched this can be a true game changer with gigantic revenue growth. Much of the success will depend on what you bring to the table. At the same time, you will be part of a global team of highly motivated and talented people. You will work closely with the Travix Leadership team to optimize the current solutions, define and execute the new strategy and propositions.
This is a highly visible and leading role in the organization in which you are the true key linking pin between multiple internal teams and external suppliers. Your main responsibilities include Business & Strategy Development, Operational Execution all with full P&L ownership for this business segment.
Business & Strategy Development:
Develop Business Traveler idea/thought to full proposition, including features, product and services requirements.
Create 3-year direction / business plan for Business Traveler proposition, with a clear business case and organizational needs
Identify market & segments and corresponding marketing plan.
Identify and select potential partners and suppliers to launch initiative and maintain successful partnerships.
Deliver on business plan and ensure proper management of initiative.
Lead (virtual) teams and key stakeholders towards goal completion, with a strong collaborative approach.
Full ownership of all commercial KPI’s.
Daily commercial & operational management in current organisation and / or newly defined dedicated organisation.
