As a Backend Engineer in our omnichannel team you will be responsible for building new initiatives within our complex ecommerce landscape to make our customer journey seamless across all devices and channels (online vs offline). Together with your colleagues you will work on omnichannel initiatives such as return in store, ship from store, click and collect and loyalty programs. Personalisation and localisation will be key, which will challenge you to build flexible, secure and data driven applications.
You will be part of our E-commerce department in the centre of Amsterdam, where you will be working together with more than 100 colleagues from all over the world in a young, fast-paced and agile environment. You will play a key role within our Amsterdam office, leading the way to help BESTSELLER E-commerce push quality of the systems to the next level.
Moreover, your tasks will include:
Building new features into different micro services within our AWS architecture
Conducting code reviews and writing automated tests
Defining improvements for the application(s) you’re working on
Implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices
Defining improvements to our way of working
Sharing knowledge with your team members
3-5 years of experience in agile backend development
Experience in preferably Java or any other object oriented programming language
Extensive knowledge of software design patterns and principles such as DRY, SoC and SOLID
Experience with Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and DevOps
Experience in SQL, Maven, Spring, Scrum, Git, TeamCity, Confluence and JIRA.
Excellent English communication skills (our company language)
