You will draft bespoke English language international contracts for derivatives and securities financing transactions that are tailored to a specific client and risk profile. You will then negotiate and manage the contract. In addition, you will be responsible for the accuracy, completeness and availability of legally valid, signed agreements. You will negotiate directly with clients, and during the negotiation period will have close contact with various departments such as commercial business, credit risk, treasury, trading, legal, tax, and operations.MDU currently has six staff and is located on the trading floor of the bank’s dealing room.
Your working environment
MDU is a sub-section of Contracting, Risk Management Corporate Banking within Risk Management & Strategy. On behalf of the MDU department (based in Amsterdam and New York), MDU is responsible for drafting, negotiating and verifying capital markets framework agreements and related documentation for the following client segments: financial institutions, (Large) Corporates, Merchant Banking, Energy, Commodities & Transportation and Private Banking. Our department is a knowledge centre for all forms of credit, securities and framework agreements relating to financial/capital markets transactions of both standard and tailor made contracts. We create and maintain risk awareness in the fields of legal and operational risks in credit, securities and markets documentation. In doing so, we make a huge contribution to the optimisation of the relationship between risk and reward.
An accurate, critical-thinking, strong negotiator with a good eye for win-win situations with a law degree and several years experience in the field; someone who wants to become the first port of call in the field of financial markets documentation within our bank and group. You are able to make a direct contribution to the quality and success of the department, and can easily work under time pressure. Check your profile.
- Fluent in spoken and written English (preferably fluent in Dutch as well);
- Stress resistant: accurate, confident of convincing others of the bank`s position and capable of performing under very strong commercial pressure;
- Pragmatic attitude, team player and flexible.
- Likes to negotiate with clients.
- 1-3 years relevant experience.
